Aung San Suu Kyi is thin but well: lawyer

Mizzima News Monday, 01 September 2008 19:17 Chiangmai — The detained opposition leader and democracy icon Aung San Suu Kyi is well but has lost some weight, according to an AFP report. The Nobel Peace Laureate met her lawyer Kyi Win today for about 30 minutes at her lake side villa in Rangoon. "She says she is well but she has lost some weight," AFP quoted Kyi Win as saying. Concerns for the health of the 63-year pro-democracy leader is being expressed in opposition circles in exile and some believe she could be staging a hunger strike at her home where she has been detained for more than 12 of the last 19 years.
